File open and find the picture - now use magnetic lasso tool trace around the part you want for your composition.

Window - background
Make sure you are in the new layer and Edit - Paste
Use first tool - move tool to move picture around.
If piicture is too big - Edit - free transform - scale to size by holding down shift key and clicking on corner anchor point - enter to commit change
To create a layer folder or new group of layers
Click on icon third from the right at the bottom of the ;ayers panel
Call it a name - eg structures
Drag the layer relating to structures inside the folder
You can click on the folder to open and close it
